A wonderful rendered piece. Is it inspired by the ladies from the Tokugawa shoguns courts as so many of mine are or have you found other inspirations? With the many layers of successive Kimonos I would place her as a courtesan of very high rank.
She looks like she step out of on of the many Japanese woodblocks I had the honor of handling when I was a collection guide and preservationist volunteer the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon, in Eugene Oregon. I use to spend hours drawing from the woodblock prints in my care. A time in my life I do so miss
